Carlos Sainz Sr. has won his fourth Dakar Rally title with victory in Saudi Arabia. The 61-year-old Spaniard, father of Formula 1 driver Carlos Sainz Jr., led nearly the entirety of the 12-stage event. Sainz and his co-driver Lucas Cruz in their Audi RS Q e-tron continued to lead the rally as it entered its second part.
Audi has described Sainz Sr. as "incredible for his age" after he became the oldest driver to win the Dakar Rally. Sainz's victory is a remarkable achievement, and it is sure to inspire other older drivers to pursue their dreams.
